We are thrilled to share that, after years of severe drought, water has been successfully restored to the 128-neighborhood in Ankawa. This community has faced long-standing struggles with water scarcity, with some homes enduring nearly a month without access to water.
Thanks to a collaborative effort, the well—previously out of service for years—is now operational again. After drilling 550 meters and installing modern piping systems, the water is flowing back into homes and bringing much-needed relief.
This achievement was made possible by the support of several dedicated partners: the Assyrian Foundation of America, Assyrians Without Borders, the Assyria Foundation of the Netherlands, and the Assyrian Federation in Germany. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to everyone involved in coordinating this vital project.
To provide further insight, we’ve included a video detailing the restoration process and the impact it has on the local community. We invite you to watch and learn more about the importance of this initiative and the collective effort that made it possible.
