Dutch Assyrians discuss their rights with Christian Democrats Esther de Lange and Pieter Omtzigt



For the upcoming European Parliament elections, a serie of lectures are organized at the Assyrian association in Enschede. Two important dutch politicians will share their vision regarding the Assyrians in Assyria and in Europe.


Esther de Lange, Europarliamentarian,  and Pieter Omtzigt, Dutch Parliamentarian, both for the Christian Democrats will reply the questions of the audiance. Among the issues that will be discussed are:

The situation of the Assyrians in the homeland.

What role does the European Union play for the existence of the Assyrians in Iraq?

The existence of the Assyrians in Turkey, the entrance to the European Union, the St Gabriel Monastery in Turkey.

Among the speakers is also Afram Yakoub , representative of the Assyria Council of Europe at the European Parliament in Brussels. 

The discussion leader will be Sabri Gabriël , deputy for the city council of Enschede for the Christian Democrats. Sabri Gabriel is a native of Tur Abdin (Northern Assyria in Turkey) and member of the Syrian Orthodox Church.

The Assyrian Mesopotamian Association of Enschede will host this event.
